Safe Cycling 2018

In Ruma Rima we have been learning all about safe cycling. We learnt about basic road rules, how to fit a helmet correctly, and the position of the bike on the road. Then we practiced skills like scanning, riding in a straight line, sharp turns, braking and slow riding for control. We had an awesome day thanks to NZ Police and Constable Jos.

  4. Safe cycling was really fun. The best part of the safe cycling was when we went over the boards.

  5. Kia Ora Ruma Rima, I think Safe Cycling was really energising and fun. Alaska did amazing and kept trying even though she thought it was
scary. Thank you Constable Jos for coming and helping us! I liked all the obstacles very much. The part I liked best was the two sea-saws and the wooden ladder. I did both the sea-saw by myself both times. I got a fright on my first time on the wooden ladder because it was so bumpy. The second time I went on the sea-saw I almost fell of.
    Thanks again, Indi.

  6. Hi Room Five safe cycling was so fun. My favourite part was the seesaw and the ladder because it was a new experience for me. I also learnt how to ride with one hand on a bike. I used one hand so I could signal to the cars when I was turning.

    1. Thank you for the comment. I don't think I will be the best at cycling because there are more people who are better and some people who are cycling the whole country of NZ.
