Blue Bots

It was wonderful having Allanah King working with us this week. We are learning through the new Digital Technology Curriculum Area. We were lucky enough to have the use of Blue Bots, that she supplied to us, for our session in the library. The children were very excited about using these and  some great learning took place.

    It is wonderful to see you so engaged in the activities Allanah created for you. I also found the Blu Bots fascinating. I think you will really enjoy digital technology. It is a very important new learning area for you. It is aimed at moving you from just users of digital content to creators of content. It involves a lot of really cool mathematics.

    I agree with Maureen. It is wonderful all of the knowledge with technolegy you get. It is so cool to also see a robot isn't it? A bit like last year, Te Kauru had STEAM kits (Is also tech) and we used play dough from the kits, positive and negative wires (Don't worry it was safe) and an LED small light bulb. We connected them all using the instruction booklet and the light would shine if you got the curcuit correct. I'd have to admit it was fun.

    Hello, I’m Lyrik from Paparore school. The part that I really enjoyed was the video showing us what robots can do when they have been made to do the code that you’ve typed in for them.We have done something similar like this before using dash and the wonder app but I’m wondering what did you use for coding your robot did you use an app or buttons on the bot?

    Wow i've never seen a coding bot like that the only ones we got is dash and sphero. you could tell us what it was supposed to teach you. what type of coding bot is it ?
